SURVEYORS |

| Q: | Is a surveyor required by law to obtain permission from an adjoining property owner prior to surveying a piece of property? Thanks in advance |

| A: | TCA 39-14-409 provides that surveyors performing their duties are not liable for criminal trespass. I am not aware, however, of a similar limitation on civil liability. Thus, I think it is prudent to get a consent before entering someone's property.
